Building Schools...

This school is lucky to have even a hodge-podge library!

While most schools attend to fundamental skills, it is often challenging for educators to inspire their students to greatness.  Imagine that you have 60 or more students and no classroom help.  Creativity goes unexplored in part due to the chaos it would create.  Imaginations are thwarted and children are left to see life only as they currently live it.  There is nothing better... no hope for improved living conditions.  One may say, “Any level of education is better than none at all.”  We say, “Education should inspire.”  Inspire change, courage, compassion, creativity, solutions, dreams, etc.  We say, “All should have the opportunity to receiving the quality of education they desire.”  Students don’t know what is possible and can’t dream of different lifestyles if educators are left to manage overcrowded classrooms and lack necessary resources and training.

Such overcrowded classrooms exist in Samoa.  To alleviate congested classrooms and create a better quality educational environment, a school facility is needed.  Studies indicate that this project can be successful.  Partnerships are being created in Samoa with individuals who are committed to oversee this effort, a school charter is being developed, budget cost are being finalized, and funding is being acquired.  Our goals are:

• To secure land.

• To build a safe and well-equipped facility.

• To employ staff members that are motivated with educational importance, open to progressive teaching strategies, and genuinely care for the well being of the students they teach.

• To encourage parents to participate in the educational process.

• To develop a sense of hope for all who enter the school grounds.

• To cultivate dignity and respect with in all whom we serve.

• To inspire dreams.

We are committed to utilizing as many local resources as possible.  Doing so empowers each community we serve. It is essential to have community ownership when building and sustaining school facilities.  When complete this facility will not only give students a safe learning environment, but new jobs will be formed and communities will become united.
